A Shocking Revelation
A major scandal has shaken Karnataka, India, as allegations emerge against the Dharmasthala Temple. A whistleblower has claimed that over the past two decades, hundreds of rapes and murders took place in and around the temple, with victims secretly buried to cover up the crimes.
Whistleblower’s Testimony
The allegations came from a 48‑year‑old former sanitation worker who served at the temple from 1995 to 2014. He revealed that he was repeatedly ordered, under threats of death, to bury bodies in secret locations.
According to his account, the victims included young girls, women, and destitute men. Many of the bodies reportedly showed clear signs of sexual assault, strangulation, and acid burns. He claimed he was warned that if he refused to comply, both he and his family would be killed.
Government Action
Following these revelations, the Government of Karnataka has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine the claims. The SIT’s mandate includes verifying the whistleblower’s statements, locating burial sites, and conducting forensic tests on any remains found.
The Karnataka State Women’s Commission has called for a judge‑monitored investigation to ensure transparency. The government has assured the public that “no one will be protected” if found guilty.

During the investigation, the SIT has conducted excavations at multiple suspected burial sites. At some sites, bones, skull fragments, and torn clothing have been recovered. The remains have been sent for DNA and forensic testing.
